FirstSteps provides you with comprehensive face to face training to ensure you get the best out of the system from day one.
You can present us with users of all levels of IT proficiency, from technophobes to technical wizards. It really doesn’t matter because our Trainers are experts, specialising in FirstSteps. The software is so easy to use and we train you at your pace. On initial purchase you will be assigned a training account manager. They will take you through your pre and post installation procedures as well as conducting the on-site training.
We are always prepared to go that ‘extra mile’ to make sure you understand everything before we leave you. All we ask for is your undivided attention.
Training for new customers is normally delivered on site, or at a venue of your choice, in two half day segments to a usual audience of three trainees. This first session usually takes place at the same time as the software installation (unless you have chosen our hosted option) and the second a few weeks later. This allows users to get to grips with the basics and fully familiarise themselves with FirstSteps before we return.
FirstSteps Training visit (Part 1)
The first site visit is made to set up the pre configured software and get you up and running with all the basic inputting functions. At this visit you will be taught how to enter children’s, family and carer information, staff details, booking patterns and be able to produce registers and reports. We let you get familiar with the programme before returning for our second session but during this ‘settling in’ period your account manager will always be on hand to help you with any queries. You will also be fully supported by our help desk if you need us so never be afraid to call or email us in between your training visits.
FirstSteps Training Part 2
The second site visit will enable users to consolidate what they have already learnt in Part 1 and then be taken through the additional functions and features which complete the package. Concentrating particularly on the financial administration side of things this training session also includes planning, staffing and use of mail merge facilities. After all this you will be well equipped to use FirstSteps to its maximum.
Additional Training on-site
As well as our in-house courses, we can also deliver on-site additional training. We can arrange one-to-one or group training at a venue of your choice. You may want to book this type of training for new staff members or as a refresher to ensure existing users are getting the most out of FirstSteps and employing it to its full potential. These are bespoke sessions covering whatever areas you wish. You set the agenda. We provide half and full day training on site for these depending on numbers and topics to be covered.
